Pulsator or no?
I'm changing the original fuel pump on an 88 GTA. Fuel pressure is still good, but it moans (actually almost makes a mooooing sound) when cold. I'm torn on whether to use a new pulsator, or just use the little rubber fuel hose. Highest priority is longevity, I only want to remove that tank once and hopefully the next pump will also last 25 years.
Ideally, I would like to hear comments about either pulsator or hose piece lasting 10 years without incident.

I remove all the pulsators and use the fuel line supplied with the walbro pump.

Re: Pulsator or no?
When I changed my pump I got rid of the pulsator. The seals on it had been going bad and was causing fuel pressure loss. So you would be best to get rid of it. And why drop the tank? Cut an access panel. And then build a custom hatch over it so next time when you have to get into the talk for some reason you don't have to drop the tank.

Re: Pulsator or no?
Do not use the pulsator, I replaced my pump and left it in there and it leaked and caused my fuel pressure to drop so I had to drop the tank and replace it with the hose that came with the pump, no more issues and its no louder that before.

This car is way too nice to cut a hole in the body, so the tank is coming down the hard way. And I'll use the rubber hose.
Thanks to all.

Me myself I would just drop the tank than cut a access hole in the top.its like you lock your self out the house but to get in you cut a hole thru the roof.

Re: Pulsator or no?
Update: Finally got around to changing the pump today. Lowered the axle, removed the exhaust and dropped the tank. It's definitely not a nice leisurely job, but it's not that bad either if you get yourself phsyched up for it. Used Delco pump #EP241, ditched the pulsator and just went with the neoprene hose. It's not too loud at all. Hope it stays that way as it ages. And also when it gets hot.
