305 with new mods, has idle issues

so i had a guy install a new 305, he ported the tpi and redone heads, installed a 282/465lft cam, and new exhaust, im supposed to be picking it up this weekend, he said it drove real good, but idles at 1,500rpms, and when in drive idles at 700rpms, says it needs a new stall converter, does this sound right?, he had to higher the rpms, cause it would stall out in drive, is there another problem going on here or does it just need a higher stall converter, oh ya also installed afpr running at 45psi

That's all the info he gave me on the cam, said duration was 282, and lft was at 465, I'll see if I can get some more info on it, is this something the cam would cause? I don't think he tuned the computer, seeing as it has a bigger cam ,ported TPI, I would assume the computer would need to be reprogrammed, he said cars runs great, just idles high when In park

Whats the Lope Seperation Angle? (LSA in the future)

Judging by those Lift in Duration numbers I don't forsee that being a big problem. You most likely could get away with a have a chip burned for your mods and you will probobly be able to bring the idle back down. 700 in drive is not that high. 1200 in park is. My stock 305 idles at 500 in drive so your 200 off of what I am running. Did the guy use the proper procedure for re-setting idle speed?

Cam is abit big and will need a tune. Especially after intake/head work. MAF will compensate alot of that but so much more to be gained with better tune. I would check the IAC and throttlebody connections to make sure its set right. Also the base timing. Go from there.

Maybe a vacumm leak? I don't see that big of a rpm jump from park to drive.
