Good ALDL cable on ebay ?
Hey guys,
Im just wondering if anyone has bought one of these cables before, seems like a good price if it just plugs into the laptop.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-OBD1-Scan...53c3e1&vxp=mtr
im thinking of buying one and downloading tunerpro to see whats really going on inside my TPI system after discovering lots of shoddy wiring, the car not running right etc etc
Ive never tried anything like this before so im hoping its fairly straight forward to look at

Hi
I am the supplier of the ebay cable. If you have any questions on how it works feel free to ask me.
Also you can save by skipping ebay and going to my website directly. http://reddevilriver.com

Yes it is a cheaper option for those who are comfortable with making their own interface cables. Don't forget you also need the additional electronics/hardware per your linked thread. I use a slightly different schemetic than shown in the thread, however I don't know if there is any functional difference between what the thread has and mine. I just know what I make works well.
You will also want to make sure you use the correct ALDL connector, either the 12 pin ALDL plug for the 85-about 93ish or 16 pin OBD2 TYPE connectors. Note also - Most 94 and 95 16 pin OBD2 connector cars are connected to OBD1 electronics ECMs.

It actually doesn't. That was an early version. The 12 pin ALDL cable I used for the mock up didn't support all the pins needed (A,B,E, and M). I really need to take a new picture. The Ebay picture shows the cable without the tape.

I was wondering, I looked at the website and seems you have another type of cable which is the same but offered cheaper than the one mentioned above. Whats the difference?
