Poor throttle response under load
Hey guys, just got back from the track, overall the car performed good, but had a problem lunching properly. once the clutch engaged and gas pedal slammed to the floor there was major delay in throttle response. Any thoughts??...I'm leaning towards the ignition system, maybe changing the coil..?

Basics first. Check for codes, fuel PSI, vacuum leaks, etc. before you start throwing parts at it.

Re: Poor throttle response under load
No codes, I keep this car fairly in check at all time. TPS has been checked and set as well. No vacuum leaks, hoses in good condition and the car idles fine. I did notice the voltage drop at times and comes back to normal randomly. When I went to the auto parts store to check the battery and alternator they checked fine but the device pointed out battery terminals are corroded which may affect the intermittent voltage drops, the question is if it might be related or not. The other thing that might come to mind is the timing maybe.
p.s I did not check the fuel pressure, but on daily driving the car drives fine, only when I'm at the track it happens.

I only ask this because it happened to me, when was the last time you did plugs/wires? I ha d the plastic holder break that held the driver side wires and all 4 of them were shorting out to the valve cover causing some major intermittent power loss. The more load, the worse it got.

mmm...lets see...The wires are 8mm Moroso and have about 34,000 miles and about 3 years. As far as I know they are still held on the plastic holder and not touching the valve covers. The spark plugs are E3 and have about 21,000 miles and 2 years.

Re: Poor throttle response under load
Car pretty much stock. I did the spark plugs and wires. I run 245/50/ZR16 Riken Raptors
They are pretty much done, but after giving them a good burn out they were very sticky plus I got FP LCA and relocation brackets, so I did improve my 60' time. It might be bogging, but I don't know exactly how to describe the problem. It takes it a second or to to respond when I slam the gas, and even after it will hesitate a bit until it wakes up and then it runs smooth. All of that in a matter of seconds that cost me good 1/4 mile run..
