Hoping for a little help on cam selection. I did some searching, but really couldnt locate anything too specific.

Here is my set up, and I need to get a cam for it.

NON-Roller cam.

Stealth ram intake
24lb injectors

And I need a good NON roller cam. I was hoping to hear some suggestion from everyone here. Nothing so big it requires a 3500 stall...LOL

I notice on all three of them they are suggesting you use 1.6 rockers. I have a nice set of 1.5 roller rockers, and I dont think that will be an problem, do you?

 

If you plan to use 1.5 rockers I'd get the bigger cam. What type of rockers do you have?

Look like crane energizer rockers. I use those also.

I was thinking, I believe my set up could go with more lift.......what do you think skirkland? Ah, I hate picking a cam....... Maybe I should just order that one.

My roller rockers are Summit brand FYI. I found some of the paper work from when I first built the engine for the boat.

By the way, who would I need to email about using my original SN from 1997? Or from 1999, when I think the board was redone.

 

Is the engine going in a boat? What type of fuel injection are you using? I don't understand the last sentence of your last post.

 

I originally built it for a boat. But after 70mph, it was too scary for the guy. (It was just a fishing boat). So, I am using it in my IROC now. Screen Name......I was wondering who runs the place now, so I could maybe get my first screen name up and running again.

I am using the Holley Stealth Ram.

Plan on using the stock ecm. But, I also have a megasquirt that can be used. Prefer to just use the stock ecm for now, I plan on transitioning to the megasquirt when i can plumb the turbo in. But, thats another project, and will be hunting a different cam down at that time, and probally go roller with it at that time.

 

What version of megasquirt?

 

v2....it was running my turbo lexus sc300.

 

Wow, I stand corrected. The megasquirt is a V1 I am getting old.............
