1989 iroc z quest for 11's got some Q'S

Hey guys i havnt been around lately, i just got an 89 iroc z tpi 350, and i have no idea were to start for my goal. The car has tho following
1.4.10'
2.longtube's, to full 3 inch exhaust no cats, to single dynomax bullet
3.shift kit, and convter. Was told to be around the 3000-3300 range
4.unknown mild cam and RR'S
5.stock heads and bottom end.

I want to dip into the 11's and here is my plans to do so which i wanted your guys opinions on what would work and what wouldnt.

AFR 195's vs dart 200cc vs trickflow super 23 195

Mod the stock tpi intake vs going carb route
I dont know much about the the tpi accept the make good torque or were designed to do so.

cc306...i was told it would be good for what im looking to do, or is there something more suitable for my goals

And last is some suspension and weight reduction. I was thinking about starting with some LCA's and working my way from there.

Let me know what you guys think, and if anyone has gone 11's on a stock bottom end TPI. Thanks again guys!!!

Better intake like stealth ram or miniram or go carb. Cam and heads are fine and will break 11's.

3600-3800 stall

Theres not much to do to the stock tpi intake to make it worth it

I tuned my buddys car. Stock bottom with stealth ram, old afr 190's and 280 xfi hyd roller cam. 3600 stall and 3.90's. was high 11's capable but suffered valve float due to improper springs. Still went 12.2 at 112 in warm air. Cold air and fresh springs it was an 11.70's car

Nice, thats exciting to hear!!! my 305 build i had been working on is finished now. I sold my 1996 trans am, and got this car. If im not mistaken the stealh ram is pricey tho. Who would you recommend for a converter?

Re: 1989 iroc z quest for 11's got some Q'S

Would the accel super ram be a good choice? Along with the fuel rails you suggested? I was also wondering if using the cc306, which i typically see being used in the lt1's, would be do-able. If im not mistaken there is some type of pin some lt1 cams have, and some dont.

Super ram uses stock fuel rails (plus) but its a pain to work on.
Leave the gears and converter, use a good tire, then install the stealth ram. You should be close.

To make the 306 cam work best, you need a shorter runner. Superram only would work well if ported extensively. Like welded up base and runner entry opened up all way thru.

Stealth ram or victor e efi single plane, maybe other efi single planes are your best bet

Afr is alittle better out the box imo being fully cnc machined. Dart depending which head you get may have more porting potential. Either should work for you
