Yes you need a high pressure pump

Re: Tbi to tpi swap gone wrong

You need a TPI fuel pump. TBI fuel pumps are low pressure, around 15 psi. TPI needs about 45 psi. Also, does the TPI setup your using have vats? If so, you may need to get a vats bypass module.

Re: Tbi to tpi swap gone wrong

If VATS is the problem, you can save some money and use resistors to bypass the security. Look up vats bypass on here. Just make sure you do it right, solder, heat shrink, all that good stuff.

Would the low fuel pressure be the problem why the ingectors have no pulse also i have code 12,no refernce pulse to ecm

No pulse has nothing to do with fuel pressure but the vats issue fred ss spoke of could. Depends on a few things if that's a problem.

I found the problem,it was the ignition coil wire to the module...

Good, glad it ran. You still need a higher pressure pump. 15 psi the tbi pump pushes is not enough.

The TBI fuel pump will not keep the rail at the right pressure, and fall heavily under WOT.

It will need to be swapped or you will fight performance issues constantly.

Why not drop the gas tank and do it right?

Re: Tbi to tpi swap gone wrong

POSTED ...didn't see it was solved

He has no spark. AND low fuel pressure got to fix both. I've been using Airtex E8248 in-line pump. 70GPH flow and up to 110psi pressure. Pretty quiet pump. No spark sounds like a control module or wiring from distributor to computer.
