This project is not hard at all, but a little time consuming if you've never done it before. It's hard to give an estimate of how long it will take not knowing how much work you've done on a TPI car, and how comfortable you are w/ tools. Just give your self plenty of time to do it and do not rush yourself!!

It only took me about an hour and a half. The thing you have to realize about mechanics is they just look in a book and see how long it says it will take and them and they charge you that price. If the book says 3 hours and they take 10 minutes your still probably going to get charged for the 3 hours; thats why I've done most everything myself.

From first bolt to last, from what I've been reading, you're looking at probably about 3 hours of labour charge. I will find out for myself in a few weeks time, as I'm doing the work on my own.

caleb: Why not remove your existing injectors and send them out to Cruzin Performance for a cleaning?

To have your 8 injectors disassembled, cleaned, resistance tested, and flowmatched is $80 +shipping to and from www.cruzinperformance.com. Rich Jensen is an absolutley super guy who will not steer you wrong, just ask anyone on here who has used him. His website has all the information you need. Good luck!!

Well, I just got home from removing the injectors. My back is killing me from leaning over that long but at least now it's done. Hopefully I will have them shipped out by Wednesday.

Total time, not including setup and clean-up, took about four hours to do it by myself. I had a couple snags along the way, but overall it's pretty straight forward.

Very true. I'm fortunate enough to have it stored for the winter so it was a perfect opportunity for me.

Tell 'em hellraiser. The part usually omitted from the "labor guide" argument is that when the job doesn't go so smoothly, the mechanic feels the pain. If things have to be modified or bolts strip etc.. and that 3 hour job takes 5 hours no reputable shop will charge you more than the 3 hours. This system, although ecouraging techs to rush to 'beat the book', is the best we have. It at least provides a standard which both parties can adhere to. Can you imagine being billed for however long it took to do the job? There'd be no more "10 minute" repairs I'm sure, and mechanics would have it made.
