TPI 42 and 43 codes error

Hello friends

I have trouble with engine.

At first i want to say, that i have L98 from vette 1987 rebuild to MAP and ECM 1991 Camaro.

Check engine light say, that we have 42 and 43 errors.

I think the reason is that i have distributor from vette and ECM from camaro.

Can it be the reason of trouble...

Buy the way, at 2000 turnaround i see Exhaust Manifold that was WHITE color, not red, not black - WHITE!!!!! Plastic parts was melt under the hood in few seconds

Hei devorced could and coil in cap will swap no problem. As long as the 4 icm wires are hooked up correctly. Have you gone through the trouble tree for 42 & 43 ?

Check the ks ohms from the center pin to housing or ground. If it’s from tpi maf it will be 100 ohms tpi ss 3.9k .

Sounds like your super lean and need to check fuel pressure or possibly replace your injectors. Does the engine have a lean miss?

There are four cavity’s on the ignition control module. They need to be hooked up as followed see the icm pin letters. They are the same for y and f body’s. Just a large 4 way connector for large cap small for small cap.

I wanted to change distributor from vette, drop it in trash and buy stock distributor from f-body 87-92. And than 42 and 43 errors will gone... But you want to tell me, that it will not help and i should not change distributor?

Re: TPI 42 and 43 codes error

No need to swap out the distributor. It could be a bad ignition control module or wiring issue. You should try to fix it before swapping out the distributor.
