Crank No Start - 88 L98
So I picked up a new project 1988 Formula WS6 with only 61k on it. Its rough but saveable. Been sitting for a while. First it had no fuel pressure so changed the fuel pump. Fuel pressure good. Test spark with an inline spark tester and has spark... Sometimes it starts/ stalls real quick then just cranks. The other thing thats odd is when the key is turned on the fans constantly run. Fuel pressure at 45 primed and does not bleed off. Also will not start with starting fluid. So I dont think its an injector problem. Thoughts?

If you have fuel into the cylinders, and you have spark at the correct time...
So verify distributor is installed correctly, was the fuel pump gummy/rusted up when you pulled it? if so, injectors may be clogged as well.
Exhaust isn't plugged up, is it?

new fuel pump it originally had no fuel pressure. now it does new distributor, cap , rotor, plugs, wires...
Ordered a set of injectors im waiting on. Pulled the rail and they are bone dry 2 dont click at all applying external power. I think maybe the cold start injector was shooting a little fuel in which is why it kinda wanted to start sometimes but quickly stall out.

No fuel in the fuel rail, yet you had 45 PSI? That doesn't add up as the shrader valve is on the fuel rail. Assuming the fuel dryed up, leaked back, etc, it does sound like an injector issue.

fuel in the rail around 45 psi. the injectors were bone dry like they were not spraying. The car was sitting for a long time it seems. Hence the low miles. The gas was crap in it when i dropped the tank.

Copy that, I assumed you meant the rails. I went through the same thing a few years back, my IROC was parked in the shop for 7/8 years, no fuel pressure when I was getting it going for my kid. I used to start it now and then...but I digress...after dropping the tank, and putting in a new pump I had fuel pressure...still no fire in the holes, had spark...noid light showed injectors were pulsing. Pulled the intake apart, sure enough injectors clogged/mucked up. I got mine from SouthBay, quality rebuilt product about 4/5 years ago? Anyways, all was fine until the FPR ruptured, so I bought an AFPR, set the pressure, there was no leakdown after about 8-10 minutes.
I highly recommend SouthBay, just recently found out they have an AFPR as well...had I known I'd have bought it from them.
