D3s seem rather noisy and run lean without battery voltage offsets applied to the tune .

Southbay doesn’t require anything, just stating from experience they D3 seem lean if that’s the only engine modification.

Re: 87 iroc 5.7 idle issues

One thing I found on mine with a lousy idle like you're describing was bad check valves on the AIR system. Not sure how that would affect the idle but after replacing all three of them it idles just like it should now. Might check those before spending big money on other stuff, should blow through one way and deadhead the other way.

The check valves are as shown here, one on each side and a third at the rear of the engine on the passenger side. Need to back away from that sensor some and take another picture, about have to be a coolant sensor/switch for something. Temp gauge work on your car?

that’s a aftermarket gauge sender, that’s where the ninth injector timer switch should be .

Ninth injector timer ....does it look like a larger coolant sensor which actually does have a injector connector .It was off to the side just dangling.

Theses are in wrong orientation but the csi timer is the one with red arrow.
without it longer cold start cranking times unless the prom has been updated.
