TPI CHIP BURNINER
Hello everyone: long time no chat, LOL. Well I've come full circle, I am getting ready, digging, hunting, scrounging for information and parts. I now have a 19976 GMC Sprint ( think Elcamino only from GMC) 70k miles virtually rust free Arizona survivor. it has a 350/700R4 that I installed, due to the fact the original set was dry rotted and shot due to to many dry starts. ok enough of the history, I have 90% of the hardware for a Tuned Port injection install, I will be picking up a 1227165 ECU later this week. I am an electronics tech by training and 30+ years of aircraft and CNC maintenance. so the wiring side is not an issue.
I have been out of the OBD1 stuff for the last 20+ years, (I dabbled in the 411 world for a while, and yes I did have a TPI running on a 411, it wore me out) as such I need help getting my head wrapped around this again. I am lookin for is information on a GOOD chip tuner, I am 65 and don't want to go through the process of learning IF I don't have to. any help would be appreciated.
I do not want to do Speed Density, I have never liked it (just personal preference) my first taste of TPI was an 85 Camaro that was incredible, never had another one like it and I had a FEW (16, between myself and 3 boys) we didn't like the very much LOL
thanks for suffering through my ramblings, age I guess? LOL

I don’t think I’d waste time with chip burning anymore, I would just get a moates ostrich, it’s an emulator that plugs into where the chip goes (memcal), you leave it plugged in and it had a usb wire you run to a laptop so you can tune live.

That's great! But I'm a technician not a programmer, don't know the first thing about tunning?

Yes I believe there are few people on here still making custom tuned chips that could possibly help you out.

It is very likely that TP will have ALL the binary files and masks necessary, and sufficient experience to work out a reasonable set of parameters and tables for your installation.
However, if TP gets swamped in work, I still have the capability as well. Newer Lenovo professional PCs still have a serial port for a variety of reasons, and this is but one of them. The USB/serial interfaces rarely operate as a full-on 16550 UART serial port, so ROM burner/flasher units don't always function as designed on those.
