no i do not believe they are 64cc i have an 85 vette and a friend has a 86 steel head vette and both are plain jane 76cc heads i do not believe they started puting different motors together in the late 90s just for camaros the vette went 58cc in 86 and half but i believe the camaro kept the same heads and pistons. untill the lt1 came out

CORKVETTE1 can you get some casting numbers? I've never cc'ed a head but everything I've read shows an '87 and up cast iron head (083) as 64cc. I know there are tolerances in the manufactoring process but I doubt it would be 12cc differance. What was the casting numbers for the pre 87 TPI?

They could have. I wonder if the higher compression was part of the way the newer engines upped the hp. I haven't been around enough TPI engines to really know. I wasn't doubting you....I was just going on the info that I had for my 87 & up heads. Hmmmm....makes ya wonder what the General was up to at times!
