Will SLP dual inlet CAI work with a MAF setup?

I was wondering, does anyone know if the SLP dual inlet CAI will work with a MAF setup? I mean, SLP's site lists it for my car when i put in the '87 model year, and '85-87 came with MAF didn't they? Maybe there's some kind of kit that it comes with to relocate the MAF... Anyone?

Um, no it won't work, here is my setup and look at the Throttle Body and the front of the SLP intake. There isn't any space for a MAF there,

If you convert to Speed Density like I did, then you can.
I have an 86 Trans Am converted to MAF TPI then to Speed Density.

Dam those are cool looking. Zepher, do you think a MAF sensor would fit in between the TB and the duct? Would you be able to measure the distance between the two without the rubber ducting in place? It looks like a MAF sensor could fit in between the duct and the TB if some of those rubber couplers where used. Thanks

It didn't fit when I put my MAF over the rubber boot part. But I'll measure it again tomorrow to give you an exact measurement.

Thanks, i'd appeciate that. I wonder if it would fit if I used some of those rubber couplers trimmed to te proper length.

I think you'd have to actually trim the MAF ends to get it to fit.
I'll measure it today when when I do some work on the car and post the measurements this evening.

I think length wise it would fit, but it needs the rubber boot to go from like a 3 inch circle to the big oval for the TB. If the boot is too short it won't pull over the TB.

That's what I was thinking. Hopefully if the space between the MAF and SLP duct is kept to an absolute minimum, the coupler will be able to transition from a 3 inch circle to the TB. Maybe it would be possible to use an aluminum adpater like an exhaust reducer. I'd just like to ditch the factory setup on my GTA.

If you use one of those round rubber couplers thats big enough to fit over the TB inlet it doesnt work very well, been there done that. You really need something thats oval shaped to begin with.

Didn't have a chance yesterday to measure it, too busy. I should be able to measure it today.
I'll find out about the Mini-ram as well, a couple of my friends have Mini-Ram'd SBC400's in thier Camaros.

Zepher...did you have any problems with relocating the battery? Any hot start problems? I like Slps setup but IM unsure about relocating the battery.

I need a higher flowing air intake just not sure what to run yet.

No problems with relocating the battery, car starts just fine, battery charges good, just need to get a battery box to securely hold the battery down.
