52mm Throttle Body???

I was wondering if it was worth putting a 52mm throttle body on my car. Ive read where it works well on stock or mildly modified cars, and am curious if this is true. Im gonna be going to the drag strip 2 weekends from now and want to throw on a couple more mods before i go. Thanks

I have one on mine and it picked up a little power from it. With your SLP runners it should give you more of a gain than it did me though. however I think you will benefit more from freeing up your exhaust some more.

I have a Flowmaster cat back system coming this week, and i gutted my cats the other day. Ill have headers soon just dont know whaat ones to get yet. So it sounds like the throttle body might help a little bit

Do not buy one!! They flow enough for 103 mph for me. You just won't see a gain!

Until you're into the heads / cam there is no point in swapping throttle bodies. You'd get more by putting the money somewhere else.

Hmm, ok sounds like it might not be such a good idea to get one now... cause im gonna wait a little while to do the heads and cam. What is something that i could do fairly quick that might knock off a lil bit in the 1/4? I just need a little bit to beat ma friends 92 RS with a 350/5 speed.

Well, you don't say what you run now, or what you're trying to run so it's hard to give advice. Seems from your sig that you are still running a completely stock exhaust. All that has to go. Also, heads and cam also come next. A nice torque converter is a good idea as well and will provide real gains.
I can't recomend suspension work on a stock car though. I can't think of a single person who could drive who thinks you need control arms / etc on a stock power car. Suspension flex is not hurting you on a 100 mph car in the 2.0 60' range. LCA brackets are another story.

I have yet to take this car to the track, so i dunno what ill be running. Im hoping to see something in the 14.0 -14.3 but i dont really know. Like i said, im going to the track in two weekends and by then ill have a flowmaster cat back but probly not the headers cause i dont know if ill have time to order them and put them on before i go. As for the suspension, the guy that owned my car before me put a T-Top roof on it so i got some subframe connectors to be welded in in a few days too.
Anyways... I really just wanted to know about the throttle body and i suppose that can wait for the heads and cam when i do that. But thanks for all the input
