fan switch ideas??
fan switch ideas??
is their a way to have a fan bypass switch that you can still allow the computer to run the fans; but bypass the computer an make them come on when you might need them.......this way if you forget they will still come on if needed?
in otherwords, have everything work as normal, but have a switch to turn them on earlier if you wanted to....

On the IROC there is a pressure sw in the A/C pressure line that signals the ECM when pressure is too high and the ECM turns on the fan.
I've wired a NO switch into this line so that I can request the ECM to turn the fan On manually. I also wired a mini LED in series with a 2.2kOhm resistor across the sw for an easy status reminder.

so basically you can turn the fan on any time you want or just let the computer do it naturally right?
if this is so, could you give me a better idea of what you did, i want to be able to turn mine on anytime also, but also leave the wires in tact so that the cpu can turn it on when it needs to as well.

There is a fan switch in the passenger side head, this controls the secondary fan. If you run a wire from the lead to the switch, into the passenger compartment, to a switch that will ground the lead, you will have manual control of your fans, but still retain the ECM controlled aspect as well.
The ECM pays attention to the secondary fan. When it sees the secondary come on, it also turns on the primary. Just splice into the wire to the secondary fan switch, leave the switch hooked up. You will be good to go.

1.) Find each relay for each fan.
2.) Take the green wire, which is ground, and splice on a new wire using a connector to each relay.
3.) Install a toggle switch, and run your new wire to one of the prongs.
4.) Run a ground wire to the 2nd prong on the toggle switch.
Now everytime you toggle the switch on, you are connecting your new ground wire to the existing ground wires of the fan relay.
They come on when you want, and still allowing computer control.

I do have the stock L98, but with forged parts, a Lunati cam, and some Trick Flow heads.
NA i ran a 13.1, with the nitrous it was 12.4. Traction and improper chip tuning were my major restrictions.
But now i am going for a ZZ4 with some 195 AFR's.
