T-56 Swamp

I have an 82 Trans Am with the stock 200C tranny and a 305. Heres what I need so far.

Parts Needed From where
T-56 with bellhousing speedautomotive.com
4th gen Driveshaft speedautomotive.com
Energy Suspension Polyurethane Transmission Mount Summit/Jegs
Roller pilot bearing Summit/Jegs
Rear main seal Summit/Jegs
Spohn Crossmember Spohn
Spohn Torque Arm Spohn
Vehicle speed sensor Dealer
Electronic Speedometer carparts.com
Third gen pedal assembly Junkyard
T56 master/slave cylinder assembly speedautomotive.com

I have one question. One person said I will have to use a third gen pedal assembly. Anyone know if I can use the pedals from a 4th gen?

I used the fourth gen pedals on my 92 rs. The fourth gen pedals come with the clutch, brake, and gas connected. I just cut the gas pedal off and it bolted right in.

Well, when I said tranny and bellhousing I meant everything in the bellhousing. Sorry

What is the difference between a pre 85 flywheel and others?

Is their a difference between the 82 and later third gen pedals?

Thanks for your help!

I'm 90% sure the 82-92 manual pedals are all the same.

I think centerforce makes the flywheel you need.

Fidanza makes an aluminium flywheel for it. I need to get one for my swap. I'll be calling them within a few days and will get my price on one. I'll let you know how much I can get you one for.

Another guy told me he used the flywheel from the T-56 in his swamp. He said be sure to grap it from the donor car because the cheapest aftermarket one was like $400.

I bought mine online when I did that same swap. Try www.car-part.com if they don't have it, then I don't think they make it! lmao, it's a nationwide data base of junk yards. I bought my 95 t-56 there too as well as my 95 camaro leather seats! Try it out, you'll love it!

I believe that the bolt patterns on the 1 piece rear main and the 2 piece rear main cranks are different.

I plan to get a used T-56 with bellhousing(everything inside it) shifter, master cylinder, tranny mounts, crossmember, and I'm not sure if it comes with the pedals for 1,550. If its cheaper anywhere else, I'll try it.

Is that with a custom crossmember? I got everything I needed minus the custom crossmember for 1500.

The crossmember is not modifyed. I'll see if I can order it without one for less $$$. I also won't need the mounts.

I found the fidanza at scoggin dickey, a little outa my price range at this time. I will check out centerforce but i havn't found one there yet. The factory never put the pullstyle (LT1) clutch on a two-peice rear main block to the best of my knowledge. the wheel on the LT1 motors has the wrong hub for my motor. What about drilling the old 153 tooth from the t-5?
