Just had it installed yesterday and I will say, it was a very nice investment. No more sloppy shifts, light throttle is nice and firm on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift, as with the down shifting. But when i get on it the whole car tries to twist. (t-tops) Need some SFC's now. And for a daily driven car it isnt too much for the streets, you kind of get use to it.

Why would you want firm light throttle shifts instead of smooth shifts? at WOT I understand you want firm shifts. In the long run it gets aggravating and is hard on the driveline. Yes, you can have it smooth at light throttle openings & firm at WOT when setup correctly, but I guess if you like it that way, that is what matters.

 

rule of thumb as pro-built mentioned, you want it smooth as butter when crusing, and to roast the tires while shifting at WOT. ive rode in a car with one of danas transmissions, and it did just that.

 

Dana, I guess thats just how some people like it. I tore one apart that had a spacer instead of a spring in the 1-2 accumulator, there was a spacer in the the line bias valve to keep it in the max position, the 2nd clutch feed orifice was drilled out to like .125" and so on. And the guy loved how it shifted! I couldn't believe it.

 

When I see this in a core (B&M, Art Carr, etc.) it has broken parts about half of the time, the other half?, excessively worn or twisted parts. It is amazing what you don't get for the money you pay. Nice stickers?.....

Just a note here: When you all of a sudden have a late 1-2 shift and no other shifts it will actually be a 1-3 shift caused by a broken band, if you are lucky. If not you will also notice that you have no Reverse. This is a broken Sun Shell. To each his own. Enjoy your shifts while they are there!
