it fit like a glove,pretty much went right in,better than my t-5 ever did,and i did it all by myself,thats the worst part,with the help of a floor jack,what kind of fluid do we put in these?my t-5 they told my to run atf,is it the same with this?and do i just pore it right down the shifter hole also?i have to gey my car started now,lol

oh thats np,i got my transmission,with bellhousing,shipped for 1000 dollars,and factory clutch assembly,hurst shifter,special flywheel,and hydralics were all together right in around8-900 more,so little less than 2 g's,but i got a loan for 4000,and bought my heads,intake system,cam,ignition,and my tranny,so,now im in debt for a few years,lol,cant wait to take it out for a drive though,i have the 93 tranny,and factory 373 rearend,so im thinking this will be a pretty good setup.

 

Where did you get your parts from? I am just kinda dreaming but to get an idea of what i gotta do if i decide. The tranny is going to be the most, so where'd you get it for under a grand for just that? thanks again

 

I put Mobil 1 synthetic into my t-56. used a little over 4 quarts either poored into the shifter hole or that plate that is more to the front of the tranny..

 

i got the tranny from a moderator over at camaroz28.com,and i got the flywheel from summit,the clutch from advanced auto,shifter from a guy on ebay,hydralics from local dealership,i think thats all.....my friend works at advanced,so i got a little bit of a discount on the clutch,i will put in a centerforce dual friction eventually,but the guy posted it for 875,and i said 1000 shipped,and he took it,so we both got what we wanted,and like i said,i had very little problems installing it,i had my motor tilted back a little,and worked with the angle,and slipped her in,the clutch pretty much aligns itself on these things,worst part was prolly that dang bolt ontop the tranny,at least for this go around,lol

ya people always give me weird looks when i tell them my manual takes Auto transmission fluid...

 

The case has threaded plugs in it for draining and filling it. I am also thinking that 4 quarts may be a bit high...... How did you know when to stop filling it if you didn't use the proper fill plug? The proper way to fill the gearbox is to pull that plug out and pump fluid in through the hole and stop when the fluid starts to dribble out of the hole. The drain plug is on the driver side in the middle area. It has the words FILL cast into the case right next to it. Same for draining - there is a drain on the rear lower passenger side area that has the words DRAIN cast into the case right next to it. You can fill through the shifter plate area if you want, but those 3/8 square drive plugs are for use when it is installed in the car and you still need to only fill it up to that hole.

 

simple.. i took out the fill plug and poured in from the top until it started to come out the fill hole.. also the T-56 holds 3.8L which is roughly.... 4.0165999999999995 quarts..

it had a t-5,and the t-56 is the 93 addition,and i have fatory 373 limited slip posi,so it should do pretty good with that,

i bought some quaker state decron lll,i think thats what it was,atf,so i hoping this will work good,pretty exspensive stuff
