Shift points

I am running the TH-350 trans in my 92. I am wondering if there is a way to taylor my shift points. While light driving it shifts very quickly through the gears, and it seems to do the same with aggressive driving. I want to let the motor wind out some more but it does not seem to want to let 'er spin. I know I can manually shift, but sometimes I don't want to. I really only do that while racing. I just want to know if there is anything I can do to tune my trans.

I do remember reading a long time ago in a mag about something like what I want, but I cannot remember. I tried to do a search but could not find anything useful...mostly info on installing a TH 350. Thanks in advance.

on the 700r4s you can adjust shift points using different governor springs and weights

i'd assume yours is the same, or something close

run a search.....im sure youre not the first to ask

I was just at Art Carr's web page and they have something called and adjustable modulator that allow fine tuning of shift point for the TH 350/400 and the 700-R4. I guess I will call them and see if this is what I need. THanks again for the replies.

Would a different or upgraded valve body do the trick also?

I don't know. I will ask Art Carr about this when I call next week. I have been wanting to install a trans break so I will see what they have to offer. Also, I want a different torque converter, I may as well just order a new trans!!!
