T56
I know this has prob been asked before but I have to questions in particular about the t56, 1st question: is the clutch fork in the same place as a t5? #2: will it bolt to the t5 bellhousing, or do you need to get a new bellhousing for it to work? I know it has to be a 93-97 lt1 t56 for it to work, and I know that you have to get a diff. crossmember...is there anything else that I need to know? what about the driveshaft? can you use the stock driveshaft from a t5 with a t56? I know its a pita to answer these questions again, but I dont have time to do a search and wanna know what I need to accumulate before swapping a t56. Thanks

you will need a new bellhousing as the T5 is at a angle and will not bolt to the T56, i got my cross member from SPD . I used my stock driveshaft from my A4.
A T56 is the same lenght as 700R4
Hope your swap goes as smothly as mine did

not sure as if the clutch fork's are in the same place. But i remembered that you will need the master and slave cylinder for the clutch. I'm almost sure that the clutch fork piviots differently from a T5. maybe someone else could confirm that.

Re: T56
The clutch forks are different and pivot in the opposite direction of each other.
The only T56 that bolts to a T5 bellhousing is the aftermarket T56 which comes with an adapter plate up front with a bearing retainer built in(?).. the 4th gen f-body and viper T56s do not bolt to a T5 bellhousing.
The complete production 4th gen LT1 T56 from bellhousing to tail is the same overall length as the 3rd gen T5.
You need to accumulate a bit more knowledge before jumping in. I have my hydraulic throwout bearing, 1995 T56 & bell, and lotsa other parts and am not quite ready to put mine in. But the T5 is pulled
