Isn't it for bolting on the torque arm? I have a TH350 trans also, but with the SSM kit locating/supporting the rearend, I no longer use the torque arm.

i did soem instructions reading and dry fitment of the halves of the torque arm mount and with the B&M brackets, one thing ive noticed is that none of the three flat head machine screws in the B&M kit will attach the first half of the torque arm mount bushings to the large B&M tail arm bracket- the holes in the B&M bracket for this need to be smaller and threaded just like the two screw holes- in the stock silver bracket on the 200c tailhousing bolted to it two long bolts and nuts- are
Im gonna go to NAPA and get a little larger bolts, nuts, and locking washers for these two holes to mount the first half of the torque arm rubber mount

thanks!

I would like to know more about this... could you give me an idea what your talking about.. Just did the T5>Th350 swap.. only thing I have left to do is fix the torque arm and the speedo.... Thanks for any help...

The B&M kit uses a special bracket to attach the torque arm to the TH350 trans. With the SouthSide Machine kit, you get a crossbar that welds to the subframe connectors and two "lift bars" that weld to the rearend housing and bolt to the crossbar to locate the rearend- the torque arm is no longer used.

That B&m bracket kit is kind of a pain. I did the swap about a year ago, and you need to get a part from the GM dealership to complete the install. It says it in the directions you need to get one of two torque arm mounting brackets depending on what torque arm design you have. I didnt bother and just modified the bracket a little. But you would be much better off getting a new crossmember. A few months later I went with the sophn adjustable torque arm with the th350 crossmember, and its a direct bolt in. Best stuff out there.
