I broke my car again. what did i do....

I just broke something again. I was out racing some honda prelude, i take off from a stop and there is a massive "clunk" from what felt like the rear end. I baby the car to a gas station. Get out, look around, don't see nothing. I figured i hit a big pot hole or something. I get back on the road, take off kinda hard again, and it does it again. So i just start babying it to get home, but its acting wierd. Like, once it shifts into OD, if i let off the gas, it kinda feels like im pushing on the brake, like the car dives. so im driving along getting more & more scared. Then my Service engine light comes on, and i look behind me and see clouds of smoke. I pull over and see the smoke coming from my hood. I pop the hood, and the smoke is coming from the passenger side, down where the tranny bolts to the motor. Then i look under neath the car and find some tranny fluid on the ground.

So I babied it home. I am really worried. What do you guys think happened? I cant check it out yet, because there are cars being worked on in my garage. Thanks for any help.

Stop driving it around, you blew something on the tranny.

Only way to tell exactly what is blown is to take it out and check it out. And praying that it isn't an expensive repair is always good.

What happened? Big parts became small parts, and now your wallet will get thinner.

im pretty sure the smoke was just from tranny fluid spraying on the engine and exhaust. i cant figure out where the fluid was spraying from though. its all over the back of the motor, and on the exhaust before the cats. i jacked the car up, but everything looked really clean. im soo lost right now. i am going to get the whole car up in the air tonight and check it out.

yah we filled it up. its been shifting great. chirps the tires going into second every time at wot. i think the rear end might be the culprit of that clunking. its been leaking oil for awhile, and making funny noises when i turn slightly or reverse. as for thetranny fluid spraing everywhere and the check engine light coming on......im clueless.

check the codes in the computer.maybe you cracked the case of the tranny. my firend did that in his z28. he had fluid going everywhere, didnt see a leak, pulled it out and the top was cracked.

one thing is for sure, check your tranny mounts.

You prob busted a clip or fried a clutch plate(s) and the fliud once it was allowed by checkball had no place to go since the piston couldn't move and forced it back up the dipstick tube

My 700r4 did that =[

update****

ok so i just took the car out to test it. i backed out of my driveway, put it in OD, gave it about 3/4 throttle, the tires started to spin, it launched then slipped and

thunk!!!!!

so i tried it again with my roommate in the car. did the same thing only after it thunked real hard this time, OD was no more. So now i have no overdrive, but it feels like something is broke or twisted. i tried to do a take off in 3rd, but it felt crazy and i knew it was going to do it again. So i parked it.

what do you guys think?
something is definately broke or badly twisted.....

(check engine throws code 32, which i think is the same one it has thrown for years. egr ****.)

personally, I think you busted your tranny mounts and now your frying up your clutch packs. Smell your tranny fliud, it smell burned?

Drain the tranny pan, do u se any metal shavings?

Regardless its only a matter of time before a rebuild/new tranny is needed more than likely.

Instead of beating it up more n risking more damage, take it easy on it, let the fliud that can flow flow freely without any rush and get it taking care of before the list of broken things are added on to

least thats what i would do

Been there

I had the same thing happen to my TH700R4.

The tranny has blowen a seal, and has more than like blown more since you kept driving it.

Drop that bad boy out of there and open it up if the fluid is still good ie nice a red or blue the clutch packs should be ok.

It's got and sign of crap in it or discoloration time for another rebuild.

SPAWN.

P.S. I hate the 700R4, blown too not looking for a 3rd.
