Engine: 350 bored .030 over
Transmission: T-5
clutch install problem

this is the first clutch i've ever installed myself. i cant get the disc to stay in the middle bolt on the pressure plate. the motor is still in the car, btw. im doing this on jackstands

Transmission: WC T5
are you using an alignment tool? The center of the alignment tool goes in the piolet bushing and the outer area goes in the center of the friction plate to keep it lined up while installing the pressure plate.

heh. well it was veerry close.

anyway, i just did my clutch for the very first time, too...

I was also doing my first engine swap, so i had the engine right out. makes it a lil easier....

oh ok thats how you use it

another question. is the pilot bushing face supposed be flat against the crank(mine sticking out about 1/8" and i can't get it in any farther. i hit it pretty hard and it started to get little nicks on the outside of the bushing. is that gonna be ok?

yea, it sticks out a bit. yours got nicks? you shoulda seen mine, i was wailing on it. heh. so far so good...

ok im gonna go work on the beast then. ill post results in about 30 mins. hopefully putting the tranny back in will be cake(i gotta go to school tomorrow )
