and when you remove the tailshaft from the tranny to do your speedo gears...NOW! would be a great time to replace that crappy *** stock TQ arm bushing.. just from looking at it I cant believe the cheapness of the stock.

Where did you get the speedo gears from? Did you go through a chevy dealer?

I work at advance...wonder if I can get them there.

I need a set because I'm going from 2.73s to 3.73s.

Nope, Advance or any of the chain stores cannot get these but you can call the dealer on behalf of your store and get them at cost. Hi Mr. Dealer this is 88350 over at advanced I need to see if you stock #XXXXXX. Is that list or my cost ?I'll be right over. Then you get the parts cheaper.

Sounds like Parts Counter 101.

www.gmpartsdirect.com is another option.

Yeah I emailed gmpartsdirect about some part numbers a few days ago. No reply yet.

I asked them about the speedo gears and about getting a carb fuel tank pickup/sender.

if you need the teeth count that I got I can give you the part#'s ...they are for 3.42 gears.

THey cost about $35 total...if you can get them at cost like I did. saves you about $20......or so.!
