yes, the real question is what would you have to do to make it fit.

Why don't you just use the Dana rearend that came out of the turbo trans am? They are hard to find, yes, but I hear that they are the strongest factory rear end put into an f body.

If it was in a turbo TA, of course.

But you will never find one. How many turbo TAs have you seen parted out lol?

I'm pretty sure Dana44's never came in TTA's. As far as I know hey all came with 9-bolts. The only "factory" 3rd gen they came in were 1992 SLP Firehawks but they were also sold for many years by GMPP so theres more than you'd expect floating around.

i'm sure all TTAs came with dana rears. all in all i ithnk you'd be time and money ahead to buy a 9" or 12 bolt as to look for and buy a dana to fit.

was just a creative idea, i thought he meant the 2nd gen turbo T/As there for a second. rear gears will probably be 3.55s, 4.10s if i get a manual. im aiming towards 440+rwhp with a possible 75/100/150 shot of nos, and i know dana44s are pretty damn strong.

I found quite a bit of evidence to agree with my 9-bolt only theory

http://www.89tta.com/ttaspecs.htm

https://www.thirdgen.org/rides/index...ew&rideid=1053
https://www.thirdgen.org/rides/index...w&rideid=10174
https://www.thirdgen.org/rides/index...ew&rideid=8577

Notice they all claim 3.27 gears ... I'm pretty sure there is no 3.27 gears available for Dana 44's. It goes 3.07, 3.23, 3.31, ect. So technically, Dana 44's only came stock on 25 cars total which would make them extremely rare if not for GM selling and installing them as replacements for a number of years.

Of course, dont go thinking the Dana44 made for our cars is anything like a corvettes. Corvettes have independent rear suspension, we dont without serious fabrication.

Doesn't mean that it's right, unfortunately.

True, but why would Year One lie about that? Also, I have the Camaro Performance Handbook and it also states that the Dana 44 came in the TTA's. Does make you wonder who to believe, doesn't it?

Here is another one from Skulte.

http://www.skulte.com/other.html

About halfway down on this one also. Now they do say that the rear is a Dana 44 but it has 3.73's in it so obviously you can get custom gear made for this axle but the HOUSING will fit in the chassis.

It's possible Year One could just be repeating what they've read in the Camaro Performance Handbook, that tends to be how misinformation propagates. I'd be interested in hearing from a TTA owner.
