700r-4 Problem

I RECENTLY HAD A REBUILD ON MY TRANNY LESS THAN A YEAR AGO. WITH OUT NOTICE I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS. THE CAR ALWAYS SATY IN 1ST GEAR WETHER I TRY TO SHIFT MANUALLY IT DOESNT SHIFT. MAKES NO WEIRD NOISE WHAT SO EVER NO CLUES WHATS WROGN. ANY OPINION WHAT I CAN CHECK?

Transmission: 5 speed
check your cable from throttlebody to transmission. kickdown cable. That cable opens certain valves at certain points of throttle position. I had to have mind adjusted - easily done with 2 people - and it shifted hard after i adjusted it.

Also, pull out the governor and check it. If you are lucky the gear is stripped or broken. Cheap, easy fix.

im not to familiar to the governor i chcked the passin gear if it was loose but looks good.

The gov is located on the dr side of trans behind a cover that is about 3 inches wide. The cover gets popped off with a large screwdriver and governor pulls right out for inspection.

if you install apressure gage on the 11mm tap above the linkage you can instantly nail down if its a governor or throttle valve /throttle valve circuit problem.hi line pressure at o tv cable pull is due to a stuck throttle valve or tv upshift valve.

This might be a governor problem (the weights are too light), if you cannot make a WOT shift on the 1-2 shift at the desired rpm. If you are trying to shift it manually before the WOT shift point of the governer, it will not happen. Let me know?

well i took it to the shop i got the tranny built he told me its a problem with adjustment and the governor. hopefullly it aint nothing big. so tmrw im goin to c whats going on
