It can handle 150hp or 1000hp. It all depends on how you apply the power. The WC T5 is not known for its durability when applied to high power applications. There is no set value for its demise.
There was no '93 3rd gen T5. I am not sure if the 4th gen V6 cars even used the same WC T5 for that matter either.

They used T-56's in 93 and up cars. If it's a T-5, it's either older, or from a v6 car.
The WC T-5 was 'rated' up to 300ft lbs of tq. But driven properly, they handle a great deal more. The T-56's were rated to 400ft lbs and 450 ft lbs. Both numbers are pretty gay.

NWC T5 used in V8 F-body applications from '83-'88 rated to 250 lbs/ft
WC T5 used in V8 F-body applications from mid'88-'92 rated to 300 lbs/ft.
ALL 4th gen F-bodys with a V8 used a T56 if they were stick. The '93 T56 is rated to 350 lbs/ft. '94-'02 T56s were rated to 450 lbs/ft.
4th gen F-bodies with the V6 used a WC T5. The guts are the same as a 3rd gen V8 WC T5, but the case is different, and it can't easily be mounted to a V8 bellhousing. I'm trying to find adapter plates for this swap. 4th gen WC T5s are plentiful and usually unabused, whereas WC V8 3rd gen T5s are getting scarce, and they often need hard parts due to damage from abusive driving.
Speaking of which I am interested in your T5 dennis. PM me, I've already got a buyer lined up and need a good core to build a G-Force trans on.
Using G-Force internals a T5 can withstand 500+ lbs/ft. It's a pricey proposition though, but probably still cheaper than a T56 swap.

I am willing to get rid of it for 300 obo.
A little more info on it...
It had 98K miles on a TPI motor.
I drove it from 84K to 98K with 0 problems.
I replaced the fluid cuz i was bored.
All seals got changed when I got a new clutch back in the day. (i no longer havea clutch for it.)
I do have a throw out bearing I can give the buyer.
Stock shifter
No cluncking, sliding out of gear or anything like that. I can take pics of it tonight when I begin my lambo door install. i will have to move it from my garadge to my room I guess, to make room.
Still interested, PM me
