How can I have 4th and not 2nd??? 700R4
I just got this transmission rebuilt by professionals but they never test drove/check all the gears. At first i had all gears but 3rd was shifting too early into 4th. got that fixed after driving around and shifting it manualy. Now I have 3rd working great but second disappeared??? Any ideas on what is sticking? I will go back to the franchise and get it fixed if i can not do it myself but it is 7 hours away!!!

Second gear is the band, so any number of things could be wrong.
Servo, band pin, or band itself.

Did you call them or any other transmission shops and have them look at it or tell them about it? I'd start there. It's kind of hard to say without driving it or looking at it.
And yes, 2nd gear has a lot of problems because of the band.

I will contact them monday. Just curious but if second did work before and now doesn't can the anchor pop out or come loose anytime? Will it hurt it to drive it right now IF it was the band just not anchored?

Incase anyone misread it. 1, 3 and 4th work good (so the band should be working?) but second is missing completely. am just curious about what maybe wrong, and i will return it to get properly fixed.

I do not think anyone misread it. The 2/4 servo is a complicated little gadget. Your problem is possibly there. The servo pin needs to be set using a selective length pin. The tool that measures this is specific to the 700r4/4l60 trans. It is a pricey tool. $350 or so. Therefore, alot of people who build transmissions do not have this and simply hope for the best. Let's hope your pin length is incorrect. It is an easy fix if the damage has not been done yet.
