No....please noooooooo

in major deep here....today on an open road I gunned it down, and I was going I believe around 50mph, and when I gunned it down a little more, the tranny would not shift into 4th until it hits the 4000rpm zone....

My friend rode with me and said that my tranny felt like it was slipping....

This is not good, the tranny fluid was changed out last January 05'. I am thinking it might need some TV cable adjustment, because I remember the car shifted very smoothly (you couldnt really feel the shifting points) but now the car just like shifts way too early in 1st (like not even 10mph and it shifts out of first) and when I floored it down, the RPM needle went flying off mark before it shifted.

Is my tranny going down the diphole? I will see if I need some TV cable adjustment of any sort....but I am very worried now.

how fast were you going when it was at 4000rpm? ussually the 4th gear will not engage if you are at 80% throttle or more.... i think it is right in there...Mine will not shift into 4th at WOT at al. I have to let the pedal up a little bit and then it goes right into it.. there is a tv valve that ups it so you can get 4th with the pedal pressed further down...

I really cant remember, it was either on the 2-3rd shift or from the 3-4th shift.

It just sounded like it was slipping and it only does it at that point when I am really going fast.

Also why I suspect it to be the TV cable out of adjustment is because my car shifts really early, it shifts to first at 10mph, and I really feel it a slight jolt...

hmm well i guess depending on the rer gears the cars shift at different speeds.. Mine likes to shift around 15 mph... so yea.. yours is shifting a little to soon i think (my rear gears a 3.08's) if you have 3.73 or 3.42 in it it may shift sooner because of the rpm of the car is a little higher than mine at that speed.. But when mine shifts it is a pretty good solid shift... except the 3-4.. it pretty much slips into that. (smooth transistion that takes a second) at least that is when i am mashing on it... if I am driving normal... it shifts firm every time... Probably just a 700r4 thing... but yea.. I would check the TV cable.. I took mine to a shop so they could set it up so it shifted right per the fluid PSI (they used a pressure gauge and set it up so the tv cable was right where it should be) The only difference with mine compared to most is I have a manual switch to lockup th Torque converter since I no longer have a computer in my car.

I dunno, I mean I never really mash on my car that often, I only do it when needed.

I dunno if its always been like that, but I do feel the 1-2 shift, I do slightly feel the 2-3 shift...

If I remember correctly when I first got this car, I couldnt feel it shifting cause the tranny was very smooth....

If the tv cable is out of adjustment to drastically alter the shift points, the damage may already be done. Readjust it and hope for the best.

took it to the tranny shop, its fine, everything is good....the fluid is still good, the cable itself was all connected and fine it was just off a little bit so they locked it back in place...

The tranny is fine
