Standard VS AUTO?
I have looked everywhere for this one question that i have. Would it be better to have a Auto because it has a tq converter and makes more tq than a standard? Or is there no diffrence between the two? standard sounds nice because theres no feeling like shifting gears in a v8 thrid gen
but would it be worth the work of hunting down peddles and other stuff like that?
but would it be worth the work of hunting down peddles and other stuff like that? i think you're confused. i torque converter don't make torque, it also doesn't make more torque than a standard. tell us how exactily you define "worth it" and what you goal is and maybe someone can quantify an answer as to what you should do.

The "best" one to have is the one you enjoy. I, myself, prefer an auto. Based on the production numbers from manufacturers, most people prefer the autos. Most enthusiasts prefer a stick.
Buy what you like and enjoy the ride.

The purpose of torque converter is to converte your engine torque from standard unit Ft/LBS to SI Metric unit which is N/M
J/K.
To convert from manual to automatic, you need the these parts:
1. Flexplate
2. Auto Transmission from an F-body
3. Gas/Brake pedal assembly
4. Upper console swap with Automatic plate
5. Automatic shifter
6. TV cable
I hope this will help.

I have benn learning about auto tranys in school and found out that a stall converter will nearly double your tq output at stall speed. But if there is no difffrence between the two then i gess ill try to go for the the t56 swap then. about how much would this swap be?
thanks
thanks
you ought to relearn the torque converter chapter, all torque converters are "stall converters". sort of like saying ration rockers, or ratio gears, they all are. there's no way you can flatly state a "stall converter" double the torque output of an engine. what a converter with a higher than stock stall speed will do is let an engine get into it's power range before the car moves. to optimize it you'd need a converter wit ha stall speed equall to or near to your engines peak torque.
