Drag radials+stock rear=bad?

OK so I just put a new motor in my ride and its not running yet but i'm hopin for somewhere around 500hp on spray. My question is would it be a bad idea to run drag radials with the stock rear? I was thinking with that much hp and all the traction the rear might blow? I have a heavy duty rear cover and richmond gears. Think drag radials/slicks are a bad idea?

bad ideal?only if you've grown attached to that rear end.it'll only be a matter of time before the rear gives way.

Seems like a touch over 400 wheel HP is the limit on a sticky tire. Automatics are more forgiving. Seen plenty of local Fbody's running around with 400-420HP going low 11's on stock 10 bolts. You'll be OK if you run yours on the motor but if you spray it out as much as you said you will, you'll break it. Especially if you're spraying it out of the hole.

the nine bolt is a little bit of a stronger rear end then the ten bolt.

i dont plan on sprayin out of the hole, i guess i will lay off on the drag radials and see how it holds up on regular street tires first, thanks
