The reason you can not find parts for the BW 9-bolt is they are not available.

Glad to see another DE guy here. I'm from Newark. There's a couple of other guys here too. Spread the word to your 3rd gen buddies.

9-bolt stuff is like hen's teeth. Mostly I've onyl seen used gears avaialble. There were three factrory ratios I believe. The 2.77 is the most common, and then there were 3.45s and one other that was like either a 3.77 or a 3.2-something.

It's a shame parts for these things are so hard to get. It's a good rear tat holds up well to a lot of power, but they just didn't built that many of them.

BTW, if you want a spool you could always weld the side gears to the carrier, but if you street drive the car I would not advise this.

I bought my 3.73 from Randy's ring and pinion. I think with the install kit too it was $300+. Strange offers gears for the 9-bolt. Kinda outrageous in price though.

www.diffsolutions.com carry parts good luck on getting ahold of Miles though.

I've also heard of a few other shops that sell gears and kits. Reindeer racing or something like that. Do some searching and you'll find the urls you need.

I believe that was it. I think the Randy's ring and pinion are actual Yukon gears, but I can't remember for sure.

Yes, Randy's Ring & Pinion sells gearsets called Yukon, which they make in house. They are very high quality, and come highly recommended if available. I have built about a dozen rears with then, and never had a lick of difficulty.

Exactly, one of the advantages to the 9-bolt is the bolt in axel retention, just like a Ford 9" This way if an axel breaks the wheel doesn't come flying off, and you might even be able to drive it a short distance (like back to the pits) as long as the bearing holds.
