Wondering if it is possible to run an aftermarket speedo and use the stock speedo cable? Or if anyone knows if the stock mechanical speedo pick-up can be used with an aftermarket cable?
Trying to do things with as many stock parts as possible, so any input is appreciated!!
Thanks ahead of time!

yes they have aftermarket mechanical speedometers that you can just plug your speedo cable into.

Autometer threaded speedometers (mechanical) ones require a screw on style GM cable. I used one made by ATP cables. Part number ATP-Y803 (its like $12). Its for a 1970 c1500 truck I think. I think 1959-1971ish is the screw style plug. WOrked with my autometer gauge and th350 tranny. But should fit a 700r4 mechanical as well.

Thanks for the info. Is your car the factory metallic dark red that most people call burgundy? Great color, same as mine.
