Moser is the only dealer who sells/sold a torque arm bracket for the 9".

I think it was $150 for the TA mounting bracket. All the other brackets come off a donor 10 bolt.

The bracket bolts to some very thick tubes that are welded to the housing in 3 places.

What 9" housing are you planning on swapping in? Is it the same width as the third gen housing? What about the axle bolt pattern, brakes etc?

Normally by the time you're done trying to do a fabrication swap, you can buy a bolt in housing for less. You can pick up a housing assembly which includes the bolt in housing and axles for about $1000. You supply the center section and brakes.

It's when you buy a complete, bolt, in, ready to run differential that it can cost close to $2500.

well i got a complete 9" from a buddy for 100 bucks. open diff. well it came out of a station wagon origionally, then it was cut to fit a ranger. depending on how the widths compare (lenth of 9", to my rearend) i was going to keep the stock axles and redrill them to my bolt pattern. i was going to get a ford tru track 3rd member with gears and use that. im going to use pretty much stock parts because they wont break for what im going to use it for. so depending on how the width compares im going to have go different routes. use this rear or get one aftermarket.

the moser bolt in houseing for thirdgens is only 800 or so with tq arm mount from moser, get some axles, gears, posi/spool, install kit and the stock thirdmember off the 9" you already have and you got a complete 9" for around $1500, shop around and get parts used and cut the costs even more. so far i got 460 into my houseing (bought it off a member here) same housing as listed above, i got a third member for 150 bucks, brakes were given to me for free (lt1 rear disks) and the rest of the parts i figure around 600, so 1250 and i got me a nice 9"...not to shabby
