weird clutch slipping problem
First off, i swapped a t-56 with a centerforce dual friction clutch in my camaro and everything seemed to work fine. It takes off alright other than the clutch ingaging at the top ( only have to push it down an inch to shift). The problem im having is when i am cruising in any gear and hit the gas a bit the rpms go up and the car doesnt go any faster, what would cause this? Im having no problem under light driving, i just cannot get on it or it slips.

Basically, you have no freeplay.
In my '70 GTO this happened if the pivot ball in the clutch housing is too long putting constant pressure on the pressure plate. Another cause for it is if your clutch arm was installed into the throw-out bearing incorrectly.
I couldn't tell you if your car has the same issues, but if it's driven too long like this, your throw-out bearing will not be long for this world.

This was a setup somebody else was using and it worked fine for them. Im 99.9% sure it's all put together right, fork, TO bearing and all. The only thing im concerned about is the clutch plate. What would happen if it is installed on the pressure plate on the wrong side? I took it all apart and i cannot remember if i put it back on right, hope so. Would oil dripping from the back of the motor get on the clutch and make it slip? I dont have a dust cover.

So if i put spacers on the bolts that connect the slave and bellhousing to loosen the tension, will it actually help or will the hydraulics compensate for the changes? From what ive read the hydraulics will make up for whatever changes where done.

yeah it is but when i draw the slave up with the bolts it puts tension on the fork. Is there supposed to be 0 tension on the fork when the slave is attached?

If the fork is relaxed wouldnt it be possible that it could fall out of the TO bearing? I figured there is supposed to be a little bit of pressure to hold the fork in place?
