Trans Cooler Lines
I am replacing the trans cooler lines on my 700-R4 since the guy i bought it form just cut them off when he pulled it. I got off the old ones. at least what was left of them and bent the new ones with a bender to keep them close to the trans an engine. The problem is I bent the lines when i had the trans/engine pulled and i need to take them out so i could drop the engine back in. Now im having trouble getting them threaded. Ive been workin on it for like 2 hrs but theres no room to work and it seems like you have to have the connection at just the right angle to get it started. Has anyone else done this and have any suggestions cause this is stopping progress on my project car
. Thanks for any help

Re: Trans Cooler Lines
Have somebody else give it a shot. Seriously.
One time I spent 2 hours trying to thread in a fuel line fitting. I was getting so pissed. Finally I asked the wife to try and she nailed it within 3 minutes. And I'm supposed to be the mechanic

Re: Trans Cooler Lines
I took the easy route and used 3/8 braided hose. I used barb fittings in the trans and radiator. I used the wide clamps and had new lines ran in around 30 min. Just make sure the hose is ok for trans fluid.

Re: Trans Cooler Lines
actually i know exactly what your going through, i went throught the same exact thing not even 3 nights ago, i layed under there forever to try and get it to go in, but it just didnt wanna go for me, so i sat back and took a break, my friend mike got down there, got them hooked up in minutes, i think it also has something to do with how you lay down there too.. cuz he was laying in a completly different way than i was and seemed to get it pretty easy.. i think i was just getting at it with a bad angle.. so take a break and try it again.. also it helps if you have someone do it with little hands...
