How do you well reinstall your tranny ?
E D I T !!
maybe some replies to this one
Car starts, backfires like crazy, but here's the problem meant for this board:
I noticed I must have installed the transmission cable or something wrong. I can't move the shifter down to first nor second gear, so the cable which connects to the selector on the transmission must be installed wrong.
What did I do wrong and how do I fix it ?

Re: serious problem
OK, so the car starts, but it moves forward, so obviously somethings way off.
Guess the car isn't going into Park or Neutral, so that would hmm explain why I can't set the timing properly.
So... once again .... how do you reconnect the cables to the tranny the correct way ?

Re: serious problem
1. disconnect shifter cable from lever at tranny by removing the nut.
2. move lever on tranny all the way forward to obtain park
3. move lever on tranny towards back of car 2 clicks to obtain neutral
4. move shifter inside car to neutral position
5. reconnect cable. hold lever with hand so it doesn't move while tightening nut.
this should get it real close if not right on the money.

Re: serious problem
Is there any way one can loosen up the cable in order to get a bit more slack ? Having problems pulling it far enough to get it in the lever.

Ah **** !!
Inside the console, the shifter cable. Now if you can see the inside cable, but after the bracket you can see a bunch of thick wires surrounding the inner cable, that means the shifter cable is broke/damaged, am I correct ?
Here's a pic I borrowed from another thread, however mine looks bit worse, only the inside cable is intact.

But would this also explain why it seems like it was a tiny bit too short ? I couldn't get it to hook up with shifter in neutral and tranny in neutral.
