redlines third

If I drive normal it sifts fine but if I stamp on the gas and put it to the floor from a dead stop it redlines 3rd I have to step fully off the gas and press it down again which sometimes that works but not all the time. Seems to me it shifts when I let off the gas and gas it again when I let the car sit for about an hour then if I run anouther race it does not shift out at all. But the tranny shifts strong when at normal drive. Well I took a look and I noticed that the gear box has a lil leak so I don't kno how long its been leakin so I have to fix that this weekend.could that be the prob? Sorry for the long story guys

Re: redlines third

RU saying it redlines B4 the 3rd shift and you need to release the throttle to shift INTO 3rd or RU referring to it shifting INTO 4th?

Re: redlines third

the transmission has a "safety" built into it that wont let the trans shift into 4th at wide open throttle. there are kits for the valve body to eliminate it.
