B&M Trans Pak

OK

I have been hearing alot of things about the Trans Go the SLP and the B&M shift kits. I just read the new Camaro performers Mag and they recommend the B&M kit over all others. So would anyone who has used this kit or has ridden in a car that has had this kit plz post here. Pro-Build I would really like you opinion also.

Thanks

i put the transpak in myself (P.I.T.A.) and i'm sure if i had an actual motor and actual gears in the rear end, it would burn em like hell going into second. it shifts pretty hard, and it defintitly has potential. if you do it, get the corvette servo as well, the 2-3 shift has a flare up to it. hope this helps.

The camaro performers mag never reccomended the transpak over everything else. They said they went to B&M for everything, but that doesnt mean they thought its better then the transgo....all the shops ive talked to say transgo...i just installed a transgo on mine...Although im not extrememly pleased with my shifts right now...i have to add a washer to my 2nd accumulator housing to harden the shifts and i know then i will be very happy with it. It has much potential. Plus the transgo comes with the corvette servo, and if you have an 87-later it also comes with a WOT overdrive shift valve. Id say go with transgo.

i had the B&M in my car. kick in the a** 1-2 shifts, and wont **** under 2000 rpm in any gear. and in the way of firmness of shifting, i would chirp 1-2 at anything over 3/4 throttle in my 2.8. 1-2 w/the street/strip is a neck snapper, but fun.

Dude they just don't use the B&M kit on there project car is they didn't think it was the best. Thus by using it over all others they have given their support for the B&M kit. Sounds good, I am just wondering why would I need a corvette servo when the kit was designed to work without it? also the trans pak kit is a very complete kit and does it really need the servo?

Thanks for the replies.

The transgo kit comes with the new vette servo. So youre saying that they think its the best and thats why they used it. Hmmm...thats interesting, considering ive read a tone of magazine articles where they have done mods that ended up not helping performance like they expected. Magazines experiment with stuff cause they can, and cause you read it. That doesnt mean they think its the best. What fun would a magazine be if they never tried different things and only went with the "best"

FastBroker and I figured out in an old message that the B&M TransPak for the 700r4 is the exact same as the B&M Shift Improver Kit. The difference is, the B&M Transpak charges $30 more for a 700r4 filter! That's it.

Do not buy the B&M transpak.
Do not buy the B&M transpak.
Do not buy the B&M transpak.
Do not buy the B&M transpak.

Understand? I don't care what some magazine told you. But the TransGo. IT IS SUPERIOR IN EVERY WAY.

Hmmm sounds like I will be buying the Transgo kit. And josh I would never follow a magazine blindly, I merely stated that a very creditable magazine used the kit and thus was premoting the product. But looks like the B&M kit is a more full out race type kit that is not very forgiving. Thanks for all your posts.

B&M shift kits create too much pressure in the valve body itself, which in turn leads to premature failure.

Get a Trans Go brand shift kit.

I never knew it came with the vette servo... Where can I get one and how much does it cost for one with the servo?
