If you have TPI you may have trouble hooking up. Stall converter swap as well I hope?

also, if you have stock TPI, the cars powerband is not very large, with 4:11's your car will run out of breath really quick and your times will suffer.

While i dont have a TPI i have always liked my 3.45/42's. Never driven my car without them. Good gas mileage and good acceleration also, 4.11's are not good street gears, the highest i would go is 3.73.

Re: 4:11 gears???

Pretty much anyone sells gears for the 10 bolt, summit is one i know off hand. 9 bolt gears are hard to come by though and since you have 3.27's im guessing you have a 9 bolt, I just sold off my set of 3.45 9 bolt gears, look in the classifieds they pop up every once and awhile. 9bolt.com sells pretty much everything but he is ridiculously expensive.

Re: 4:11 gears???

With a motor that peaks out around 45-4800 rpm, you definitely don't want 4.11's. - Yes, if it is a 3.27, not a 3.23, then it is a 9-bolt(count the bolts on the cover and you'll know for sure). If it is a 9-bolt, then you're gonna have to do some searching to find a gear and/or pay some pretty good $. All that stuff is made over in Australia.

I agree on a a 3.42/3.45(10-bolt/9-bolt, respectively). Good gear to get you a some more excelleration w/o putting you out of the engine's powerband or costing you a bunch of mpg.

Re: 4:11 gears???

3.73 is highest you want to go with using stock converter.

good to see they've gotten reasonable since I played with a 9-bolt.

Re: 4:11 gears???

There's nothing inherently wrong with using a stock converter with gears over 3.73:1.
