How Hard is it to install B&M Megashifter???
Hey poeple,
This is a question for people who actually swapped in the Magashifter.
1) How hard is it to install, what do I have to change?
2) Does it improve peformance any?
I would really appreciate a short quick response. Thaanks

You have to cut the console(not really that difficult). The rest is bolting it down and hooking everything up. You have better control over shifts. It will only go up or down one gear at a time from 1st - 4th

Very easy to install, takes a while to adjust though. Looks sharp and functions well.

The install is fairly simple, but TAKE YOUR TIME adjusting the cable. A small adjustment can make a big difference in the way it shifts. I figure most of the complaints are caused by improperly adjusted cables.

I agree; my shifter went in easy, with the hardest part being the cutting of the console top. I cut mine with a cutting tip in a soldering gun. And I also agree with spending a ton of time and care on the adjustment of the shift cable. Make sure to put the shift cable's swivel in the CORRECT hole on the new B&M shift lever.

What do you mean by cutting the console top? Do you mean, I have to cut up the plastic top of my center console. can this be done with a conventional saw?
Thabks for the help guys

The best way is with a high speed cutoff wheel. I've installed mine and one in a ZZ4 Regal and they were both easy to do. If you use a jigsaw just make sure the piece is held down very well and you're using a fine-toothed blade or it'll catch and snap the piece or take chunks out of it.

Yeah, just careful cut trim off the extra plastic, bolt it in and remember the groment in the floor board! I forgot mine and the cable finally snapped though the plastic from being rubbed on sharp metal.
Anyway, then just bolt her to the gearbox and let her fly.
