confused

well while driving my 87 camaro iroc z/z28 and decided to go to low gear but noticed i could go 4 gears down. its an automatic tho. so the goes like this

?
?
?

isnt that a 700r4? and if so why 4 other drives? is it supposed to act like a 5 speed? and if so i always been in the regular drive position. is that driving it wrong?

its a 4 speed with overdrive

leave it in D or the D with the outline for overdrive

Normally you should just put it in drive unless the circumstance require otherqise

Not worthless but you should only manual shift when absolutely necessary because the factory automatic shifter gets sloppy over time and it is easy to accidently over shift it.

+1, i can barely tell what gear i'm in based on the clicks and have tried to drive in neutral several times lol
