Ok, I think it is your tranny mount, and its easy as hell to change,(I've done a few in the past month) you get the car up(to get under) then jack up the tranny,(it will fall if you don't) so the you un bolt the transmission mount(located in the center of the crossmember) then unbolt the crossmember and finally unbolt the trans-mount from said transmission. Now, just put the new mount in, do everything in reverse. The reason I have done this soo many times recently is that my 92 3.1 manual seems to have a rather dead part.. I can't find it anywhere, I called the local dealerships and they told me GM stopped making the part..if someone knows where I can get the part tell me, also Jegs and Summit both sent me the Automatic trans-mount, which simply doesn't fit, even though they keep telling me it does, the bolts/bolt holes just don't line up..I'm frustrated cuz I can't launch or even think about getting on it in 1-2-3...good luck with yours..

Its one mount(kit) depending on which one you get it may have several pieces. Unless your getting a poly mount or "high performance" mount look to spend less than $10.

With your experience ... can the transmission mount be bad without being broken?

I just changed mine last week what a big diff. no more big bang. A trans mount should be one piece mine was in three. It took 30 mins that was from the time I open the garage door till I closed it.
