Re: parking brake adjustment.. help

do you have the hand brake or foot pedal?
i think most are hand
so for that you take off the center console and there should be some adjustments on the handle

Re: parking brake adjustment.. help

i just looked at mine you should see something like this

if you have this type you should just Remove the protective cover from around the park brake handle. loosen the jam nut on the adjusting rod and turn the adjusting screw until the cables tighten and then thighten the jam nut to hold the screw in place rotate the rear wheels to ensure they are not binding and its that simple

The adjustment is in the tunnel above the drive shaft--doesn't matter if the rear is disc or drum. Look at post #4 of the following link for a pic:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/brak...r-e-brake.html

Since this is an LS1 rear, how have you hooked the cables up? Either a modification of some sort was done, I assume, or you purchased cables from Ed Miller.

BTW, no thirdgen, to my knowledge, was ever equipped with a foot foot pedal.

Re: parking brake adjustment.. help

it should only be above the driveshaft if you have a manual tranny or
foot pedal(Which usualy is only on four wheel disc) but idk did you change it when you put the rear end in it?

Regardless of transmission and/or brake system, 82-89 thirdgens have an adjustment mechanism in the tunnel above the drive shaft. New models, 90+ feature a self-adjusting parking brake. All parking brakes are applied using a handbrake.

Ilike,

If you're using the LS1 cables, unmodified, that's you problem. Check the following link, toward the bottom, for info on LS1 cables:
