i am going to install a temperature sender for a trans temp gauge in my car so i dont blow the tranmission up again.

i would like to know what the thread pitch is for the drain plug in a t5 transmission.

 

Pull yours out and put a thread pitch gauge on it. I wanna know too.

 

If memory serves me its 1/2"npt pipe threads. I will double check tomarow while im working on my body brace

anyone know where to get one that's magnetic? The dorman one (090-100 IIRC) is NOT coming in as the right thread from multiple distributors.

 

dont know if magnetic plug will prove anything in this application. the drain plug is on the "top" passenger side, of the trans since it sits on an angle. any sediment will settle to the "bottom", driverside of the case, and away from the drain plugs. there is a magnet in the case for this purpose. grab a little bolt and move it around on the bottom of the trans, you will find a spot where it "sticks"

I don't need one for me.
It's a customer. I reassured him the internal magnets would do fine for the service life of the trans.
