Re: Drive Gap??

The driveshaft moves in and out as the rearend goes up and down.
there maybe some shiny metal showing on the yoke.
Is this a diff driveshaft or your stock one? If its from another car make sure the splines are strait in the yoke.

No its the same stock drive shaft and same transmission...I just noticed that the mount has a little room so u can adjust the transmission back and forth hopefully that's it I'm going to try.to move the transmission back tomorrow. As its all the way up right now

Re: Drive Gap??

pics might help.

has the car had any accidents or might it have adjustable lower rear control arms?

center-to center u-joint measurements for length might help.

I'm guessing you didn't buy the car new so if a yoke or driveshaft has changed (with OEM parts from another,) and it worked before, it might not seem "changed."

With the rear fully drooping, the yoke is as far into the trans. as it is going to go (assuming all things stock) So, with the rear suspension compressed (to a stock ride height,) the yoke needs to slip in enough to 100% cover the bushing. Make sure of that before driving. But, the most depth in possible without bottoming out would be better.

Re: Drive Gap??

Transmission is attached to the engine. If you move the tranny back, you need to move the engine back as well.
