like it says, i just picked up a t56 out of a 97 camaro.. clutch and flywheel were smoked but everything seems to work fine.. i got the peddle assembly and all the hydraulics... paid 600bucks.. good/ bad? any thoughts

Damn good deal. I paid 1100 for mine with 40k on it (96 camaro), with hydraulics and 5.0 shifter. Not a bad price I think

About right... you'll love that trans. MUCH better box than what came in these cars.

You got a great deal for sure. I love the T56, its amazing how it almost made muncies obsolete overnight.

 

Ok, I've seen much debate about this. Should I convert from the Pull style clutch to the Push style. I've notice the Pull style clutchs are quite expensive. My camaro was originally an Auto. I currently have a T5 in it, I like it just want alittle more overdrive + I have a roller 86 t/a that has been a major back burner for my dad ...so I think it will get my T5 after the T56 is installed and working proper. I won't get the t56 near the camaro for a year or two. I've got a fiero gt project going right now and its taking all my attention and money.

 

It would fit well in your Monte. Just sayin'

 

lol.. umm yeah it would fit in the Monte, but I'm gonna leave the auto in that. I absolutely love that car as it is. Cutting into it would be sacreligious. I already cut the Camaro open for a stick.. so I have no hard feelings about improving on a slight design flaw. The Monte never came as a stick..least in the U.S. So I believe it should stay that way.
