Re: cup plugs

Alot easier to get em at a REAL parts store...

Not sure I know anything about this "tapered" though; only been doing this about 40 years or so though, I'm kinda inexperienced, maybe that's something new?

You're going to keep having that experience until you learn how to back your questions up with detail.

Re: cup plugs

5/16 as 8mm here www.ebay.com/itm/150610245935

3/8 as Dorman 555-115

Not under a buck a piece at your local store like "they should be" but there you go.

Obviously, you'll save time by just tapping for a thread-in plug.

eBay has irregularly changed programming of the URL over the years. Currently, deleting everything after /itm/ except for the 12 digit item number gets you a shorter link.

Re: cup plugs

I've found that if hitting it with a hammer doesn't work, weld it.

Alternately, a piece of iron pipe machined down makes a nice cheap bushings driver.

It's guaranteed to go in easier than any F-body T56 tailhousing bushing.
