Assuming you're talking F-body T56,
Mcleod and I think Ram too list a hyd. throwout bearing to use the LT1 T56 with the T5 flywheel. Mcleod's first version was too thick so verify measurements with them.
An aftermarket adapter plate bolts the LS1 F-body T56 to the T5 bellhousing but you'll need a different pilot bearing to support the input shaft properly and to shorten your driveshaft. That also puts the shifter into the floor crossbrace area.

Re: t-56 help plz
well, it also depends on the balance of your engine.
A 1pc. seal 305 or 350 is balanced internally with an external weight on the flywheel/flexplate.
A 1pc. seal 383 could be balanced to match that and some are. If (and this is a big if) it is, you could use a 93-97 F flywheel and clutch with an LT1. trans.
I realize you referred to your flywheel as being for a 400 but there is no stock one like that so I don't know if you were told that's what it was or whether you bought it that way or whether you had a shop do it or what. And a lot of people mix up "internal" vs. "external" balance.
So it heavily depends on the balance of your engine.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the adapters to put a 2pc crank in a 1pc block.
That puts you at the 2 options in my first post in this thread.
There's also aftermarket flywheels for the LT1 T56 pull-clutch behind a 400 crank. I've installed one from Centerforce before. Spec has one that can be balanced for a 400 with a bolt-on weight plate.
There are neutral balance LT1 T56 pull clutch flywheels for any 2pc seal Chevy except 400 and 454. I would recommend against using those with the balance plate that goes in between the crank and flywheel; too many issues with the starter and clutch release.

It's # 069196 I talked to Centerforce to verify the application last year and it's not even in their catalog. Jegs should be able to inquire of them.

Re: t-56 help plz
I had to contact them to verify the PN, so yes.
Coming up with a donor transmission for non-outrageous pricing is tough. I bought one over 10 years ago for a grand that was all new parts inside with bellhousing. Knew someone who did rebuilds for dealerships. If someone knows theirs is that new inside, you won't get it for that now.
Craigslist for someone parting a car out and get everything (hydraulics, pedals (slightly diff. than thirdgen) bellhousing, clutch and flywheel (just in case) and the wiring pigtails. If you can get all that for a grand and it shifts decent in all gears you did okay. A new or remanned trans. is going to run closer to 2 grand.

Re: t-56 help plz
If you're absolutely going LT1 T56 and keeping the T5 style flywheel, talk to McLeod about measurements required to correctly order their hyd. throwout bearing. Yay, another phone call!
